The 23,000 person gain in construction employment was dominated by the 15,500 person contribution from specialty trade contractors. Those are the folks who finish buildings, both residential and nonresidential. Employment at builders was little changed. The rest of the increase came from a 7,100 gain at heavy and civil engineering firms.
